I’m fascinated by the absurdity of the everyday. As a photographer and filmmaker, I look for the small, strange, and sometimes uncomfortable moments that you might otherwise easily overlook.
Growing up in Limburg, I’ve always been inspired by the traditions and rituals of my hometown, while also being curious about those beyond it. I enjoy stepping into new worlds with an open mind and finding inspiration in the people, places, traditions, and situations I come across. It’s in these unexpected moments that I find humor, meaning, and beauty.
My background as a filmmaker is reflected in my photography: I look for images that feel cinematic, where atmosphere and setting are part of the story, and the photograph feels like a moment within a larger narrative. Through my work for publications such as Het Parool, I have the opportunity to discover new stories and worlds and capture them through images.
